Love you all but tired, tired, tired! If I move again somebody have me committed! Loving the new house but a ton of unpacking and organizing to do. Maybe I'll unpack and set up studio in the next week to ten days or so! Don't hold me to it please! Hugs to all!

Moving Right Along!

Finally!! We have a closing date for our new home in Cape Coral, Fl. We are closing on Thursday 3/15 and moving the next day. There was a last minute panic moment but God faithfully stepped in and all is well with the process.

Change Is Hard But Can Be Good

Greetings all! Since change is my middle name these days and I can't sculpt anything I thought I would lighten up the look of my blog. What do you think?  I recently dropped the hyphenated Moore(my first married name!) from everything. Also Petty is on everything related to our new home purchase and my Reggie didn't want any last minute surprises at closing!  I had to get a new driver's license, SS card etc., and I am in the process of editing my name on all sites. Like many of you I am going through major life changes. Much of it is positive and I thank Father-God for the positive as I proceed through the challenges.

I am continuing to study different types of dollmaking as I do intend to take it to the next level whenever I unpack everything and set up my new studio. There is much to learn and experience in the development of my creative process. I am also encouraged  in the healing process of my emotions and spiritual progress. I am spending more time meditating on God's Word and identifying myself as it relates to me as a child of God. After all He is the master Creator and I am made in His image! I encourage all of you to do the same because it is increasingly difficult times in this world and we need all the help we can get from God's word and His presence. Let's continue to pray for each other and those who need Christ in their lives, which of course is the entire world!!

I want to share with you one of the last photos taken this past Christmas of my mom surrounded by a few of her grands and great-grand-kids. The lady in back with red hair is my daughter Nikki. A'keyla her daughter is right next to her and Jonathan her son is standing in navy in the front with my mom. The other kids are 1st and 2nd cousins. There were so many of them there that we had to borrow the church hall to have the dinner!
 

Love Is In The Air!

Happy Valentine's Day to all my beloved friends! It's been quite a ride but I am finally feeling about 75% recovered from the pneumonia monster(no relation to the cookie monster!). Somedays I feel almost normal and then a baby elephant tries to sit on my chest. Pesky bugger!

The condo is filled with packed boxes and bins as we wait for our closing date. Reggie started packing two weeks ago poor thing! He's excited though. Mom has the constitution of an ox and is hanging in there, actually coherent and talkative on some days. It's rather weird to observe her Forest Gump type of existence. You really have no idea how she will present as she tends to vacillate from day to day and sometimes every few hours.

I have been watching the weather reports and really praying for my friends that have been dealing with such extreme weather. Hang in there and be strong my peeps!

Well I continue to visit your sites and facebook to see what is going on with you all and to drool over all the lovely arts and crafts you are all creating. Of course it will probably be a month or so before I can get back to creating anything as all my stuff is packed up. Stay well my friends! Thanks for all your prayers and comments of encouragement. A Little Something For A Friend

I declare,  all I seem to bring these days is not so good news. Been feeling a bit fatigued and coughing due to congestion in my left lung for a week or two. Thought it was allergy but it got a bit worse every day.  I've a history of bronchitis and sinusitis but no respiratory problems for about 4 years. I called my VA doctor's office and gave them my symptoms and they insisted I go in for a chest x-ray. Walking pneumonia people!!! Never had pneumonia before but I guess there is a first time for everything! So no visits to mom's for a while but my darling Reggie is going as our representative! What a guy!

The prim valentine is for a dear face book friend Regina and unless she visits here it'll be a cute surprise! We're sort of swapping little cuties back an forth 5 times over the next 6 months. Love you!

One Day At A Time!!

OK all, I am digging deep and trying to restart at least one doll project. Mom is terminal but stable for now so I must at least try and craft something or end  up possibly jumping off the top of Mount Rushmore! I thank you all for your prayers and good wishes and even though I may not leave a post I have visited most of your sites. It's the next best thing to creating for myself! Oh, and by the way, we are in the process of buying a new house in Cape Coral to boot!!!! Love and Hugs, Jan

Update!

Mommy is back at the nursing home and is being followed by Vitas Hospice. She seems stable for now. However when it rains it seems to pour! While dealing with Mom's hospitalization 2 weeks ago we learn that my husband's closest family member, Vickie his cousin was sick and was given 2 weeks to live. She passed away early this morning in Atlanta only 6 days after her prognosis. Oh boy! At the same time of course our hearts our breaking for the families of Sandy Hook victims! We can't understand much at this time but look to our faith in Father God and the presence of the Holy Spirit to give us comfort and sustain us during these most difficult of situations.  Blessings and comfort, Jan

I Miss Santa Blue!

I feel sorta blue today. I was looking at my archives and ran across Santa Blue and realized that I miss the rather elegant old fellow! I hope he has a Merry Christmas with his new owners at their home in the mountains.

Just Checking In

Hi everyone! I am over that horrific norovirus and now am spending more time on the hospice unit with my mom. I will not be working on any projects for a while because as one can imagine this situation is very draining. Keep us in your prayers! Constance thank you for the lovely email! Teresa I know you understand that your package is going to be after the holidays. I want it to be perfect but I am unable to focus on much other than my mommy! Stay safe and well guys. Challenges, Challenges!

Oh Boy! Mommy has had a rapid decline and is in the hospital with a hospice referral. The doctors say she could have as few as 2 weeks or as much as 6 months. She has stage 5 dementia, 4-5 mini heart attacks, renal kidney function at 20% among other things. There was an outbreak of norovirus at the nursing home  (a nasty old stomach virus) and of course she was a victim. And guess who got it from her? Yours truly! It's horrible! So I have to take some time off to recuperate. Pray for us because there will be no Christmas festivities, just a conscious  acknowledgement that for the love of Jesus we are able to pull through! Reminiscing......

I've had somewhat of a creative block in the past 2 weeks and I am fighting to overcome this problem. I have been reviewing old posts and looking at where I am now versus then to sort of kick-start the creative juices. I think it is working as yesterday I was able to get out the old trusty Dremel and sand several doll parts. I am hopeful that this trend continues. I have important projects to finish before Christmas!

Emily Charisse was my first Queen Anne Doll and my first doll period made from a homemade paper mache recipe. The storage box was made with her originally but the display box was added after.

God is good, we just have to recognize this in good and challenging times! Pray for those in need and for each other. Have a blessed and safe weekend my friends!!
